Canellas, Hansen and Duvnjak take home three watches each

NEWS REPORT: 94 'Best Player' awards were presented throughout the EHF EURO 2014

Only three players at the EHF EURO 2014 were presented the 'Best player of the match' award three times as Danish left back Mikkel Hansen, Spanish centre back Joan Canellas and Croatian centre back Domagoj Duvnjak received the recognition - and the watch that comes with it - on three different occasions.

While Canellas also became the top scorer of the tournament with 50 goals, both Hansen and Duvnjak made it to the All-star Team of the championship and Duvnjak in addition received the 2013 IHF World Handball Player of the Year (2013) award on Sunday.

Another 13 players managed to win the award twice.

As for the playing positions, centre backs received the highest number of awards (20), followed by goalkeepers and right backs (each 19).
